Dr. Patricia Tordik is a Clinical Professor and Chief of Endodontics at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry who practices within the U.M.FDSP Faculty Practice, Baltimore, MD. Prior to teaching at Maryland, she served as the Associate Dean of Navy Graduate Dental Programs, Professor and Chair of Endodontics, Naval Postgraduate Dental School, Bethesda, MD, and the Endodontics Specialty Leader to the Navy’s Surgeon General. Tordik is a graduate of Drew University where she majored in chemistry. She then earned her DMD at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, NJ Dental School (Rutgers University), completed a general practice residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Castle Point, NY and endodontic residency at New York University, College of Dentistry. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, a member of the American Association of Endodontics and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists who presently serves as President-elect of the Foundation for Endodontics. Tordik retired from the United States Navy after more than 22 years of active-duty service at the rank of Navy Captain (O-6). She has a diverse background in patient care, leadership, teaching, and research, with many published articles in peer-review journals.
