I received my Ph.D. in 2005 from the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, for my work on employing the liquisolid technique to increase the solubility and bioavailability of pharmaceuticals that were not readily soluble. I served as an assistant professor at the same institution from 2006 to 2009 before moving on to the Faculty of Pharmacy at Omar Al-Mukhtar University in Derna, Libya, in 2011. I worked as an associate professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy, King Abdul-Aziz University, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from October 2011 till January 2017. I have been a professor of pharmaceutics since 2017. I have received numerous local and worldwide honors for my outstanding research and instruction. I have authored more than 70 articles for scholarly journals, nine US patents, four invited book chapters, and presentations at numerous international conferences. I continue to review articles for several prestigious, international peer-reviewed journals.
