Capacity Building for Rural Oral Health Using a Project ECHO Model

Project ECHO is a virtual telementoring model for health workforce capacity-building which uses an all-teach-all-learn framework designed to share information, tools, and resources for application in underserved communities. The American Institute for Dental Public Health (AIDPH) developed our Rural Oral Health ECHO Program in partnership with CareQuest Institute, University of Nevada Las Vegas, the National Rural Health Association, and the Oral Health Progress and Equity Network to support innovation in rural areas for oral health care delivery and program development. This ECHO Program features a think tank approach to addressing rural oral health challenges alongside didactic presenters who amplify emerging topics including minimally invasive care, personalized and predictive care, mental health, and oral health for individuals with disabilities. In this session, participants will learn about the collaborative approach to implementing the Rural Oral Health ECHO Program while creating opportunities to apply learnings from this framework in their respective programs.
