Dr. Brittany Seymour is the Global Health Discipline Director and Associate Professor in Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She is an award-winning global health educator and research mentor. Her work, spanning nearly two-dozen countries, focuses on interdisciplinary approaches for oral health improvement through competency-based education and integrated workforce development. Example projects she has led include the Rwanda Human Resources for Health implementation of the first dental school in Rwanda, the Health Advancement in Vietnam dental education reform, and the WHO Regional Office for Africa’s competency-based mOral Health training program for community health workers. She is a contributing author to the FDI World Dental Federation’s Oral Health Atlas 2nd Edition and the National Institutes of Health Oral Health in America: Advances and Challenges report. Dr. Seymour is an American Dental Association national consumer spokesperson and has held leadership roles with the American Association of Public Health and the Consortium of Universities for Global Health. She is the lead creator and editor of the Global Health Starter Kit open access online curriculum, with registered users in 30 countries.
