Description: Research suggests that storytelling is an underutilized tool by public health communicators. Stories can influence public perspectives, connect speakers and authors to an audience, and create meaning in communities. In 2022, the Arcora Foundation funded a Storytelling Initiative that brought oral health promotion experts together to share and refine stories, seek out audiences, and promote fluoridation. The approach was to recruit passionate health promoters, gather them in a series of virtual meetings, and offer one-on-one coaching and stipends to encourage engaged participation. The purpose of this Roundtable is to discuss how we might best use storytelling in our communications. Participants will be given the opportunity to share and receive feedback on their own stories. Results of the Initiative will be shared.
