Abstract: Background: Rocky Mountain Network for Oral Health Integration (RoMoNOH), funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, aims to develop, implement, and evaluate models for delivery of preventive oral health services (POHS) for children aged 0-40 months receiving care within 23 community health centers (CHCs) in Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming. One POHS is parent oral health goal setting (OHGS). Objective: To evaluate the impact of an OHSG intervention on parent-OHGS. Methods: To engage CHC providers in parent-OHGS, RoMoNOH implemented an intervention utilizing the American Academy of Pediatrics Brush Book Bed (BBB) Program enhanced with OHGS materials. RoMoNOH trained providers with a 12-minute video which introduced BBB and OHGS motivational interviewing techniques, provided CHCs with 2500 intervention kits (brush, toothbrush, book, handout), instructed CHC staff to incorporate BBB/OHGS into well child visits (WCV) from 7/2022-9/2022 and invite parents to complete a baseline online survey (English/Spanish) after the WCV. Parents received a follow-up survey in 1-2 weeks. Baseline survey variables included parent-OHGS, OHGS-confidence (0-10), oral health behaviors, sociodemographic characteristics; post survey also included OHGS-achievement. Descriptive statistics summarized findings. Results: From 7/2022-9/2022, 19/23 CHCs (83%) provided 2233 WCVs to eligible children. 460 parents [female (93%), Hispanic (73%), Medicaid (56%)] completed the baseline survey (72% English/28% Spanish); of those, 43% (199/460%) completed the post survey. At baseline, 98% of parents reported setting ≥ 1 OHG (confidence > 6/10 (X%)). At follow up, 77 % of parents reported OHG-achievement. Conclusion: Parents receiving the BBB/OHG intervention reported success with OHGS and OHG achievement.
