Hispanics have reached an inflexion demographic point in our social landscape, increasing our impact in the U.S. economy and politics. The 2020 U.S. Census confirmed that Hispanics or Latinos now represent approximately 18.7% of the total population.
The Hispanic Dental Association identified a lack of relevant data to develop policies supporting the oral health for our minorities communities and decided to develop in 2022 a great national secondary data analysis and data driven policy review workshops to provide an updated overview in several oral health areas related to Hispanics.
The study includes an overview about the current oral health status, dental needs, utilization of dental services, dental education, and dental workforce influencing U.S. Hispanic populations of all ages at state and national level. This seminar is the overview of our HDA white paper to be published in Spring of 2023.

Learning Objectives:

- To identify the relevant data to develop policies supporting the oral health for our minorities communities.
- To provide an overview about the current data in several oral health areas related to Hispanics.
- To show some important trends in oral health status, dental needs, and utilization of dental services in Hispanic groups.
- To show inclusion and diversity trends in dental education and dental workforce influencing U.S. Hispanic populations.
- To show the gaps in data at the national and state levels, which do not allow analyzing the current context in oral health in Hispanics and other minorities.
