Create a Learning Space
Tips for Setting Up a Productive Learning Space
Whether you are learning from home or trying to catch your sessions in between rounds, here are some helpful and practical suggestions to help you create a learning environment that works for you.
Find a Quiet Space
Set up your learning space in a quiet, distraction-free zone. Silence and/or mute your other devices that might interfere with your computer audio.
Get Comfy
Choose a comfortable chair with the appropriate back support that suits you. At your desk, keep plenty of water and snacks nearby. Use ergonomic mousepads and/or keyboard pads.
Do Not Disturb
Let friends and family know ahead of time that you will be participating in this educational event. Setting "away" and/or "do not disturb" messages minimizes these possible distractions
Be Prepared
Have any items handy that you may need during the event, including:
- device chargers
- note-taking materials
- medications
- coffee, water, and/or snacks
- glasses, sweaters, and other personal items
Take Breaks and Stretch
Some great ideas include to:
- stand in place and roll your shoulders
- take a couple of laps around your desk
- use the restroom then grab a snack
- close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths
Don't Stress
While participation is key, if you miss something during the event - don't stress about it! Most of the sessions are recorded and will be available on-demand 2 weeks post-event.
