Elaine Corbett, Ph.D. is a Director, Sector Innovation and Programs at Ontario Genomics, an Ontario-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to catalyzing and supporting genomics-based technologies across multiple economic sectors for a genomics-driven bioeconomy. Elaine has over 20 years of experience in academia, industry, and not-for-profit organizations and has been at Ontario Genomics since 2014.
As Director, Sector Innovation and Programs, Agriculture and Food, Elaine is responsible for providing overall leadership to sector development and stakeholder engagement that enables and ensures the implementation of strategic initiatives to bring new genomic-derived solutions to Canadian and international markets. Elaine most recently led the development of the recently released national report - Cellular Agriculture – Canada's $12.5 Billion Opportunity in Food Innovation and the 2018 Ontario Genomics' Strategy Genomics for Agriculture & Agri-Food: Ontario's Strategic Opportunity before that. Elaine also successfully developed key partnerships and co-funding opportunities resulting in two Ontario competitions - the 2021 cellular agriculture AcCELLerate-ON and the 2018 agri-food competition Ontario Regional Priorities Partnership Program (ON-RP3).
