Faith-based organizations always have been an integral part of a community's recovery-oriented system of care. During this session attendees will learn of a new "academy" style approach to educating and equipping these organizations with evidence-based trainings and toolkits designed to better prepare clergy, lay-leaders, and volunteers who are serving individuals dealing with substance use disorder, mental illness, and trauma-related challenges. The presentation has been developed in partnership with the White House Office of Faith-Based Partnerships, the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Office of Faith-Based Initiatives, RecoveryOhio, enCompassOhio, Addiction Policy Forum, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, NAADAC, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Dr. Christian Conte, Dr. Caroline Leaf, and others.

Learning Objectives:

Explain the importance of faith-based engagement in the recovery-oriented system of care
Describe to a community a replicable education and implementation plan for faith-based recovery certification
Prepare on-going faith-based academy tools and trainings designed to further the acumen of faith-based partners in their recovery-oriented system of care
