General Pediatrician Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Discuss a unique program based at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital were a fleet of mobile medical units provides free medical and mental health needs of homeless use. These mobile medical units are retrofitted Recreational Vehicles complete with two exam rooms, a pharmacy, and laboratory. We have regularly conducted substance use screening on our patients since 2018 and can present this unique data as well as our rates of behavioral health referrals to our own in house counseling team. Will also discuss our providers advocacy efforts to create a state bill to restrict cannabis advertising (often directed at youth) in a similar vein that we restrict tobacco adverting.
