Brandon Williams began working as an epidemiologist with the West Virginia Board of Pharmacy in February 2022. The majority of his work in the Controlled Substance Monitoring Program focuses on state overdose fatalities and providing data-driven guidance at the grassroots-level by working with local health departments. Prior to moving to West Virginia, Brandon's focus was on clinical research. For the last seven years, he worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He had a number of roles; ranging from regulatory compliance to clinical/translational research coordination, concluding as an oncology/hematology data specialist. He received his Bachelor of Education and Behavior Sciences in Health and Human Performance from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2011. Following that up with his Master of Behavioral and Health Sciences in Exercise Science from Middle Tennessee State University in 2013. He believes in life-long learning and continuous self-improvement, and he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, the outdoors, and writing.
