Steven Mange serves as Senior Policy Counsel and Interm Legislative Counsel for North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein, where he develops and implements strategies to address the opioid epidemic, overdose, addiction, and drug misuse. He played lead role in developing the comprehensive opioid remediation strategy list built into the national opioid settlements; in drafting and negotiating the memorandum of agreement governing allocation and use of opioid settlement funds in North Carolina; in creating the North Carolina opioid settlement dashboard (https://ncopioidsettlement.org); and in developing the More Powerful NC opioid awareness media campaign and website (https://www.morepowerfulnc.org). He previously served as Senior Policy Advisor to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Executive Director of the Illinois Meth Project, and consultant to the National Alliance on Model State Drug Laws. He has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, M.A. from the University of Chicago, and J.D. from New York University School of Law.
