Deni Carise, PhD has been working in the Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders field in since 1988. Her career has spanned research, clinical, and treatment positions in the behavioral health field including clinical leadership at large (>100 programs) systems of care as well as 17 years as an NIH-funded scientist whose work made significant advances in the quality of substance abuse treatment through the development, application, and research of new interventions, systems, and technologies. She has also served on several non-profit Boards including 12 years on the Board of The Phoenix, and since 2019 she has been on the Board of Young People in Recovery (YPR). She has published over 100 articles, books, and chapters, taught at the university level, and delivers more than 50 lectures, trainings, and presentation each year. Dr Carise earned both her B.S. in Mental Health Sciences and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Hahnemann (now Drexel) University in Philadelphia PA. She is currently Chief Scientific Officer at Recovery Centers of America (RCA) and an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine.
