Xiance Holas, MPH, MHA, graduated with a dual Master of Public Health and Master of Healthcare Administration from Barry University. Ms. Holas is the Forensic Epidemiologist at the Florida Department of Health in Broward County (FDOH – Broward). She has a unique role through the merits of the Overdose Data to Action Opioid Surveillance Program in which she collaborates with the Medical Examiner’s Office and the Department of Health to combat the opioid epidemic. The fatal drug overdose information abstracted from the Medical Examiner’s Office is then used to conduct epidemiological analyses to assist stakeholders and community leaders in making changes in policies, procedures, and processes in the community to reduce overdose deaths. Prior to her role as a Forensic Epidemiologist, she was an Epidemiologist with FDOH – Broward mitigating outbreaks of Covid-19 in schools and daycares within Broward County which is the sixth-largest school district in the nation.
