Lisa Shoaf graduated in 2002 from The Ohio State University with a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology. Following graduation, Lisa began working at the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services as a research analyst. She became Statistical Analysis Center director in 2004. Lisa has been involved in research, evaluation, and policy matters on numerous criminal justice issues, including the intersection of criminal justice and behavioral health and pre-arrest diversion, illegal and pharmaceutical drug crimes and drug task forces, community-police relations, gun violence reduction initiatives, deaths in custody reporting, and pretrial/bail reform. Lisa is an active member of the Justice Statistics and Research Association (JRSA) and served on JRSA’s executive committee for several years, including two years as president.
