Jessica Reichert is a Senior Research Scientist and the Manager of the Center for Justice Research and Evaluation at the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority where she directs research and evaluation projects. Ms. Reichert has published over 100 articles and reports including in peer-reviewed journals. She has conducted, and is conducting, studies of police deflection programs, including a multi-state evaluation funded by the National Institute of Justice with RAND. She has published articles related to justice-involved individuals with substance use disorders, as well as was a co-author of the state's opioid action plan. Ms. Reichert sits on several opioid-related task forces including the Governor's Opioid Prevention and Intervention Task Force. She has presented at national and state conferences on the criminal justice response to substance use-disorders and the opioid crisis. She was awarded the annual National Publication Award for her work from the Justice Research and Statistics Association in 2010 and 2021. In addition, Ms. Reichert was a part-time instructor of criminal justice at Loyola University Chicago for many years. She earned her master’s degree in criminal justice from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Bradley University.
