Priyam Patel is an ORISE fellow on the Overdose Mortality Team at CDC. In his role at CDC, he supports data quality, technical assistance, and research activities for unintentional or undetermined intent overdose death data submitted to the State Unintentional Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS). He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Florida, and he received his MSPH in Public Health Informatics from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. As a graduate student, Priyam also worked as a Biostatistical Analyst in the Drug Surveillance Unit at the Georgia Department of Public Health, where he worked on longitudinal and spatial analyses of opioid morbidity and mortality trends in Georgia. Priyamâs main public health interests include overdose surveillance and prevention, GIS, data dashboarding, visualization, and informatics. In his free time, Priyam enjoys exploring Atlanta, reading epic fantasy novels, and watching basketball.
