Dr. Julie O'Donnell is an epidemiologist in the Division of Overdose Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She has worked as a mortality science officer supporting state-based collection of drug overdose mortality via the State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS) since 2017. Prior to her current role, Dr. O'Donnell served as a CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer, assigned to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Dr. O'Donnell received a PhD in epidemiology from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health, an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health, and a BA in biology from Williams College.
