Verlyn Hawks has been the Director of Health Information Systems at Utah Navajo Health System, Inc for almost 14 years. He has led UNHS in the implementation of many state of the art Health IT projects and systems and in helping UNHS become a data driven - top tier healthcare provider. Prior to his work at UNHS, Verlyn spent 25 years in the financial and other industries in various roles ranging from system architect and applications engineering manager to software development lead, performance and scalability team manager, and database administrator. Verlyn obtained an M.S. in Data Analytics from Western Governors University and a B.S in Information Systems from Utah State University. Verlyn’s outside interests include exploring the remote areas of Utah, canyoneering, and building a homestead in central Utah.
