Michael (Mike) Fatula is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and the Statewide Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Coordinator for the Virginia Department of Corrections. In this role he oversees and implements all projects and initiatives related to MAT and the Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) initiative within VADOC. Prior to this role, he was a licensed mental health clinician in Probation and Parole, where he provided mental health services to probationers over a 3000 square mile area. Prior to employment with VADOC, he was a licensed outpatient clinician in rural community mental health, where he provided mental health and substance use disorder treatment to adults, children, and couples.
Mike is a licensed professional counselor, is endorsed by the Virginia Board of Counseling and practicing as a licensed clinical supervisor, and serves as a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) and Corrections Crisis Intervention Team (CCIT) instructor. He is a member of the Virginia Counselor’s Association and Crisis Intervention Team International.
Mike graduated from Walsh University (North Canton, OH) in 2007 with a bachelor of arts degree in Sociology: Applied Criminology and Criminal Justice and from Franciscan University of Steubenville (Steubenville, OH) in 2010 with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling.
