Dr. Freeman is the Earl Platt Slone Endowed Professor in Pharmacy Practice and Science and Director of the Center for the Advancement of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She is a Faculty Associate in UK’s Center on Drug and Alcohol Research and the College of Pharmacy’s Institute for Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy. Dr. Freeman’s research is focused on substance use policy, including the impact and effectiveness of prescription drug monitoring programs and harm reduction policies such as pharmacy-based naloxone access laws. Dr. Freeman received a bachelor of pharmacy degree and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Kentucky.
