Roneet Lev, MD is an emergency and addiction physician who served at the White House and still practices on the front lines. She was the first Chief Medical Officer of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, 2018-2020, after being Chief of the Emergency Department at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. She currently serves as Chief Medical Officer for the Center of Community Research integrating addiction medicine expertise to the community. Lev chairs the Community Response to Drug Overdose (CReDO) Task Force that brings together the 3 Ps: Public Health, Public Safety and Prevention leaders. to reduce drug overdoses. In 2012, she established and chaired the San Diego Prescription Drug Abuse Medical Task Force, the first of its kind in California. Lev’s medical publications known as the “Death Diaries” studied the details of prescription patterns of people who died from accidental medication overdoses. Dr. Lev served as President of the California Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians in 2000. She is Founder and Vice President of IASIC, the International Academy on the Science and Impact of Cannabis. Lev is an energetic leader with a passion to assist communities in preventing and treating addiction. Lev hosts the podcast, High Truths on Drugs and Addiction.
