This will be a moderator-hosted panel of representatives from various payers with multi-state and national presence. The panel discussion will focus on specific strategies that developed by payers to address the increase in opioid overdoses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Potential topics may include increasing access to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) following a non-fatal opioid overdose event, support for the expansion of telehealth options for MOUD, and the use of predictive analytics and digital technologies to enhance prevention and member engagement. The payer representatives will be prepared to share non-proprietary data related to opioid overdose trends, connection to MOUD following a non-fatal opioid overdose event that surfaces in the emergency department, and other relevant data that demonstrates data-driven solutions to address the increase of opioid overdose events during COVID-19.
