Attorney General Chris Carr created the Opioid Task Force in Georgia to provide an infrastructure of communication between the public, private and nonprofit sectors; local, state and federal officials, and other stakeholders. The Task Force membership now numbers over 400 participating organizations that sweep the State of Georgia with proactive solutions to battle the opioid and illicit drug crisis and its related societal issues including drug related gangs and human trafficking.
This session will discuss the work of the Task Force and the General’s leadership in the National Opioid Settlement including a discussion on the framework of how Georgia’s $636 million in settlement funds may be distributed.
This session is moderated by behavioral sciences company, Sober Peer who is active nationally in policy issues that support the nation’s opioid, illicit drug and mental health solutions.
