Young Shin Kim, MD, MS, MPH, PhD, is a Professor of Psychiatry, and Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and a Director, UCSF Center for ASD and NDDs. A native of Korea, Dr. Kim completed Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training and her MPH at Yale and her PhD at UC Berkeley School of Public Health. An active clinician, educator, and investigator, Dr. Kim studies epidemiology, differential susceptibility and etiology of developmental psychopathology using large scale epidemiology studies in Korea, the US and other countries; she also examining diverse high-risk youth in San Francisco and the Navajo Nation. She received Presidential Early Career Award in Science from President Obama for her contribution to the scientific community by her outstanding research and community outreach effort .
