Dr. Jonathon P. Fanning (BSc, MBBS, PhD, FRACP, FANZCA, FCICM) is currently a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Johns Hopkins Medicine (MD, USA). Jonathon originates from Brisbane Australia, where he works clinically as an Intensive Care Specialist, Anesthesioloogist and General/Acute Care Physician at the Royal Brisbane & Womens and St. Andrew's War Memorial Hospitals. His research focuses on perioperative cardiovascular/coagulation-associated complications which was the topic of his PhD and subsequent research based primarily out of the Critical Care Research Group (Metro North Health Service, Department of Health, Queensland Government) & the University of Queensland under the mentorship of Professor John Fraser. At the start of the pandemic he expanded the scope of his research to include patients with severe COVID-19 requiring Intensive Care support and became an integral part of the COVID-19 Critical Care Consortium, a global collaborative of more than 400 hospitals/research centres from 64 countries developed.
