Andreas R. Rechner is senior key expert and senior scientific marketing manager for hemostasis and plasma proteins at Siemens Healthineers, Marburg, Germany. He studied food chemistry at the Johann-Wolfgang-von-Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. After earning his PhD degree at Geisenheim University, Germany, he worked first as a postdoctoral research fellow at King“s College in London, UK, and then as a Marie Curie postdoctoral research fellow at Unilever Research & Development in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands.
In 2004, Dr. Rechner started as laboratory head in assay development at Dade Behring in Marburg. He continued in this position following the acquisition of Dade Behring by Siemens. Following the launch of the INNOVANCEĀ® PFA P2Y test cartridge, which was developed in his lab, he continued to work in assay development, participating and leading several projects. He is a certified senior project manager (IAPM) and holds a certificate in lean product development from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.
He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and holds several patents. With almost two decades of experience in hemostasis research and development, he now focuses on scientific marketing of Siemens Healthineers hemostasis and plasma protein products.
