Ana Thereza Cavalcanti Rocha has a degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Bahia (FMB) of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) (1995), with a medical residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania - Hahnemann University (1997 - 1999), and residency in Pulmonology and Intensive Care at Duke University (2000 - 2003). He completed his Master's in Health Sciences In Clinical Research at the Duke Clinical Research Institute at Duke University in 2003 and completed his PhD in Medicine and Health at the Federal University of Bahia in 2008. He was Data Manager of the Tegumentary Leishmaniasis Project (TMRC) at the Immunology at the HUPES Complex from 2006 to 2011. He is currently a Pulmonologist, Adjunct Professor and headed the Department of Family Health at the Faculty of Medicine of Bahia (FMB) of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) for the period of four years until 2018, teaching Medical Semiology from 2005 to the present. She is an Adjunct Professor at the Bahia School of Medicine and Public Health with teaching activities at the emergency medicine internship and at the ADAB. She was Coordinator of the Center for Assistance and Treatment of Tobacco (NATTAB) of the Pulmonology Service of the Complexo Hospital Universitário Professor Edgard Santos (HUPES) from 2008 to 2011 and currently coordinates the Tobacco Treatment Program at the Cardio Pulmonar Hospital in Salvador, in addition to the Ambulatory of Respiratory Symptomatic and Tobacco Treatment of the Spiritist Foundation of the State of Bahia. Dr. Ana Thereza Rocha worked as an intensivist in the Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital da Bahia and the Spanish Hospital, Salvador, Bahia (2011-2013); worked as a Pulmonologist/Intensivist/Emergency Specialist at Hospital Jorge Valente, Salvador, Bahia (2013-2020). He currently works as a pulmonologist at ClĂnica CLION and Hospital Cardio Pulmonar, Salvador, Bahia (2019-present). He is a member of the Brazilian Society of Pulmonology and Tisiology (SBPT), of the Brazilian Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, alumni member of Duke University, member of the American Thoracic Society, International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He is a specialist in Internal Medicine and Pulmonology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and by the SBPT and in Intensive Care by the Brazilian Intensive Medicine Association. She is a researcher in the areas of Venous Thromboembolism and Smoking.
