Professor Kremer Hovinga is an Associate Professor of Hematology at the University of Bern, and the Head of the Hemophilia Comprehensive Care Center and the Hemostasis Laboratory at Bern University Hospital.
Professor Kremer Hovinga is an expert in hemophilia, von Willebrand factor-related diseases, and thrombotic microangiopathies and specializes in thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP).
Professor Kremer Hovinga established the Hereditary Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (hTTP) Registry in 2006, the largest registry for patients with TTP in the world and was awarded the Günter Landbeck Excellence Award in 2019 acknowledging her work in the field of hTTP. Furthermore, she has more than 150 papers published and was awarded the prestigious Alexander-Schmidt-Preis in 2022 by the Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis Research for her outstanding work in the field.
