Consultant Paediatric Haematologist

Dr Jeanette Payne studied Medical Sciences Part 1 and Psychology Part 2 at Girton College, Cambridge, UK and was awarded a first class degree. Completed her medical degree at New College, Oxford and the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, UK. Subsequently trained in adult medicine then paediatrics in Oxford and Nottingham and obtained RCPCH. Took up a haematology training post in Sheffield in order to specialise in paediatric haematology and obtained FRCPath.
In 2008 was appointed as a Consultant in Paediatric Haematology at Sheffield Children’s Hospital specialising in haemostasis, thrombosis and leukaemia. Is the Director of the Sheffield Children’s Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre in the UK and is currently the clinical lead for haematology and oncology in the trust.
Has served on the UKHCDO (United Kingdom Haemophilia Centre Doctors’ Organisation) paediatric working party since 2013 and holds the position as secretary of the working party.
Is an investigator on a range of malignant and non-malignant clinical trials and has a number of publications in these areas. Was an investigator on the TEN02 and TEN05 studies in children with hereditary Factor X deficiency.
