Joshua Muia, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS), Tulsa, Oklahoma. I was born and raised in Kenya and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. I then moved to the United States where I obtained a Ph.D. in Biochemistry/Chemistry at Western Michigan University and did postdoctoral training with the late J. Evan Sadler, M.D., Ph.D., at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Since relocating my laboratory to OSU-CHS, my research program has been focused on the vascular biology and pathophysiology of metalloproteases ADAMTS13 and ADAMTS7.
