Professor Maria Podolak-Dawidziak works in the Department of Haematology, Blood Neoplasms and Bone Marrow Transplantation Medical University of Wroclaw, Poland. She was graduated from the Medical Academy in Wroclaw, Poland. Specialist in haematology, clinical oncology and internal medicine, involved particularly in the management of patients with bleeding disorders.
She was the scholar programme grantee at the Department of Haematology Collage of Medicine University of Wales, Cardiff, UK (1987-1988), and participated in research on megakaryopoiesis in thrombocytopenias at the King’s College in London under the British Council Academic Link (1990-1995).
The research interests include regulation of platelet production, and the management of inherited and acquired bleeding disorders. Her papers were published in prestigious journals such as British Journal of Haematology, Lancet Haematology, European Journal of Haematology, Thrombosis Research.
She is the Head of the Working Group on Hemostasis of the Polish Society of Hematologists and Transfusiologists (2019-), member of the Board of Polish Society of Internal Medicine (Vice-President 2008-2012), and the Board of Central European Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Organization (2008-). She is the member of Scientific Council of the National Treatment Program for Haemophilia and Related Hemorrhagic Diathesis (2019-2023).
Professor Podolak-Dawidziak was the Editor in Chief “Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine”(2008 - 2016).
