Carver College of Medicine
Stephanie Saey, BA is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, with plans to apply Internal Medicine for the 2023 Residency Match. Stephanie's current research efforts focus on the clinical management of patients with Von Willebrand disease and associated platelet function disorders. She is specifically interested in the use of subcutaneous desmopressin to treat bleeding episodes in these patients. During her time at Carver College of Medicine, Stephanie has also completed research projects with Surgical Oncology, Pediatric Cardiology, and Psychiatry teams. She values the mentorship she has received and is eager to immerse herself in clinical research projects as a resident and future attending. Outside of research, she continues to cultivate her passion for medical education as a tutor for three different preclinical courses as well as the USMLE exams. As a third year medical student, she was chosen for induction into Carver College of Medicine's Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society.
