Charlotte Flahou, MA, is a PhD trainee in the Department of Clinical Application of the Center for iPS cell Research and Application (CiRA), Kyoto University, under the guidance of Prof. Koji Eto. She was selected for the competitive European Scholarship Class B for the Erasmus Mundus Program Biohealth Computing in 2015, and the Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship from the Japanese Government in 2018. She specializes in the immunological aspect of stem cell transfusion/transplantation for regenerative medicine, and is currently studying immune evasion of iPSC-derived platelets from NK cells. Outside the lab, she volunteers for a crisis lifeline, and takes classes to become an opera singer.
