Postdoc Student
Division of Haematology and Haemostaseology, Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria
My name is Nazanin Samadi. Currently, I am working as a postdoc at deparment of Internal Medicine I, Medical University of Vienna, Austria.
I obtained my BSc in Biology from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. Thereafter, I moved to the Netherlands and received my MSc in Medical Biotechnology from Wageningen University and Research Center. I always had a passion for research, therefore, I came to Vienna to do my PhD in the field of Allergy and Immunology. During my PhD, I mainly focused on finding novel strategies regarding food allergy prevention and treatment in a mouse food allergy model.
After my PhD, I was keen about haematology as well as clinical studies and wanted to build a bridge between clinical and basic research, I joined the Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research Group. At present, I study the effect of factor VII in body fluids on the epithelial barrier function via in vitro models. Besides that, I investigate the function of protein disulfide isomerase (PDIs) in antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) patients with a history of thrombosis.
