I was born in 1969 in Leningrad, USSR. In 1994, I was graduated from the State Technical University in Saint Petersburg, Russia, as Magister of Technical Sciences (speciality – biophysics). The main professional interests are molecular genetics and molecular medicine. From 1994 until now, I am working at the Russian Research Institute of Haematology and Transfusiology, Saint Petersburg. In 1998, I defended the thesis for PhD degree “The features of allelic polymorphism of the HLA class II genes in healthy persons from Saint Petersburg and in patients with severe aplastic anemia”. Since 1998, the main interests and works are devoted to the study of molecular mechanisms of genetic predisposition to thrombotic disorders. I had visited for two times the Haemophilia Center in St. Thomas Hospital, London, for short trainings. In 2007, I defended the thesis for the “doctor of science” degree “The molecular genetic aspects of venous thromboembolism pathogenesis”. I am the author of more than 300 scientific publications.
