Katerina is a final year Neuroscience PhD student at University College London. She is investigating the effects of iron deficiency and iron repletion on mitochondrial physiology in various tissues. Katerina's research interests lie in understanding mitochondrial physiology in disease and does so using various methods including high resolution respirometry, near-infrared spectroscopy as well as in vivo confocal microscopy. She has a Bachelor's degree in Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience from Royal Holloway, University of London and a Master's degree in Clinical Neuroscience from University College London.
