Luciano Baronciani. Biologist executive at the Angelo Bianchi Bonomi Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center (Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico Milan, Italy. Born in Pergola (Pesaro-Urbino), Degree in Biological Sciences, University of Urbino, Pesaro, Italy. Post-degree in Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry University of Milan, Italy. My research concern the pathophysiology of inherited bleeding disorders, like von Willebrand disease and hemophilia. In particularly, in the last 20 years I have been working in the laboratory diagnosis of von Willebrand disease (VWD) and in the assays necessary to monitor the therapy of the patients affected with VWD. The characterization at the biochemical and molecular levels of these patients, that we perform in our laboratory, is important in order to improve the VWD patients management.
