My name is Bradley Readnour, and I am a Graduate researcher at the University of Notre Dame. I did my undergraduate research at Purdue University and my areas of interest are bacterial surface proteins and electron microscopy. I focus on surface proteins in AP53 GAS cells that bind and activate plasminogen to allow for the the streptococcal cells to more easily spread throughout the body. My research entails analysis of these proteins and the impact of their mutation and regulation on GAS' ability to infect human hosts. I also have a focus on electron microscopy to obtain structural information on GAS virulence factors and their binding to hPg through the use of SEM and Cryo-EM.
