PhD student
IMMEI, Bonn, Germany
My name is Blanca Jurado Mestre and I am a PhD student in immunology; currently working on my last year at the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Experimental Immunology in Bonn, Germany. The main aim of my thesis is to understand the mechanisms behind Hemophilia A therapy, specially to study the role of FVIII-specific immune response during the immune tolerance induction treatment. I am a biochemist specialized in immunology and very interested in deciphering the importance of regulatory T cells when tolerance establishment.
We already know that immune cells are affected by different factors, for instance external ones. Understanding immune tolerance induction and its stability, despite external influences, is one of the main objectives of our research. Therefore, we focus on the effect of infections and their inflammatory environment during hemophilia treatment.
