I trained as a hematologist, mainly treating patients with bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, Bernard-Soulier syndrome, von Willebrand disease, etc. Meanwhile, I explored the molecular mechanisms of these diseases, the bases of which I am still interested.
Between 2011-2013, I worked as a post-doctoral scientist in Department of Pharmacology, University of Illinois College of Medicine under the guidance of Professor Xiaoping Du, studying the molecular mechanisms and molecular pharmacology of platelet functions, mainly focusing on signalling and regulatory mechanisms of platelets mediated by integrins.
Since 2014, I have been working in the Bristol Platelet Group, University of Bristol. From 2014 to 2017, I worked in the lab of Professor Stuart Mundell, concentrating on GPCR functions in platelets. From 2017 to present, I have worked in the lab of Professor Alastair Poole, focusing on exploring novel methods to generate platelets in vitro.
