Dr. Saravanan Subramaniam is a Research Assistant Professor at the Pulmonary Center, School of Medicine, Boston University, USA. His research interests are primarily directed toward understanding pathophysiological mechanisms of infection-elicited inflammation and coagulation, and identifying pharmacological targets by intervention studies to reduce infection-mediated complications- such as thrombosis and organ failure. Over the past 8 years, he has been working with various imaging techniques and preclinical humanized mouse models to document the behavior of blood cell-vessel wall interactions and fibrin generation to understand venous thrombus development.
