Experimental Medicine Institute. National Academy of Medicine. CONICET.
I am Roberto Pozner, Ph.D biologist and conscuts basic research at the Insititute of Experimental Medicine (CONICET/National Academy of Medicine), in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I work every day to gain new knowledge about the biology of platelet, from their biogenesis to their function, from my PhD thesis until today. In these 20 years, I have learned that nitric oxide, cyclic nucleotides, viral infections, or type I IFNs can regulate megakaryo/thrombopoiesis, and that platelets have unique properties, such as activating the transcription factor-kB pathway, although do not have a nucleus, and that this protein is involved in platelet activation.
I was also able to make some contributions to the knowledge of endothelial biology.
