My name is Ganeem Juneja and I am a second year MSc student in Dr. Paul Kim's Lab at McMaster University. I did my undergraduate studies in Honours Biochemistry at McMaster University as well. I started doing research in my fourth year where my project focused on characterizing the role of silica-free-cell-free DNA on fibrinolysis. My interest in research grew from there and I am currently researching coagulation and fibrinolysis in COVID-19. My current research focuses on a comprehensive biomarker analysis for prediction of clinical course and patient treatment outcomes (COVID-BEACONS) aims to identify biomarkers that associate with clinical course and outcome. I have published a paper on my findings thus far (doi:10.1111/jth.15327). Additionally, I have also presented my findings at various conferences such as the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis 2021 and the CanVECTOR Annual Conference 2021. I have also won the CanVECTOR Studentship grant and the McMaster Department of Medicine grant in my first year as a master's student. I have a keen interest in attending this conference and having the opportunity to learn and hear from some of the best researchers in this field.
