Researcher
Cima Universidad de Navarra
I graduated with a degree in Biology (2000) and Biochemistry (2002) from the Universidad de Navarra where I did my PhD in the field of atherothrombosis (2004) investigating gene regulation of the fibrinolytic system in in vitro systems. My postdoctoral training continued at the Vesalius Research Center (VRC-VIB, KULeuven, Belgium, 2006-2009), where I focused on the implication of growth factors in atherothrombosis by using animal models of atherosclerosis and vascular and myocardial ischemia. In October 2009 I joined the Laboratory of Atherothrombosis at Cima University of Navarra where I continue my research work. Currently, I combine experimental studies including in vitro and in vivo models with clinical approaches. Aware of the importance of combining different fields of study and introducing new research lines, in 2011 I became interested in the role of extracellular vesicles in vascular homeostasis and thrombosis.
