Sander van Doorn received his PhD at the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care, University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands, on the topic of stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation. Currently, he continues his research on cardiovascular disease in general practice with a special interest in atrial fibrillation, and stroke diagnosis and prevention. He combines his research with clinical work as a general practitioner in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
