Marija Cumbo is a PhD student and research assistant working in Laboratory for Molecular Biology at the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, University of Belgrade. She obtained her BSc and MSc degrees at Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. Research topic of her dissertation is analysis of prothrombin expression, activation and role in development of colorectal cancer. Other research topics include cancer biology, mechanisms connecting cancer development and hemostasis, prothrombin, regulation of prothrombin expression, prothrombin gene 3’ end. Marija is experienced in different methods for DNA, RNA and protein analysis and manipulation, as well as in vitro (prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell culture) and in vivo (zebrafish model system) technics.
