Student
University of Malta
I am Mr Karl Mangion, a 21-year-old student from Malta currently reading for a degree in Applied Biomedical Science at the University of Malta. At the moment I am concluding the last year of the course. My current goal is to work as a medical laboratory scientist and provide a diagnostic service in a healthcare setting. I also aspire to continue developing my career. I am ready to commit the time and energy required to reach my highest potential. From a young age, I was exposed to the medical field due to my family background and consequently I always had an interest to work in this sector. I decided to choose this course since while studying sciences, I always enjoyed and appreciated the work conducted inside the laboratory. This course also provides various employment opportunities that involve helping different individuals requiring patient care. I conducted this research study as part of the requirements of the current course. It was my first experience conducting such a study and I am very proud of the outcome. From the start of the course, I enjoyed the coagulation aspect of pathology and this research study provided me the opportunity to learn more about it and increase my interest on the subject. I am looking forward to attend the ISTH congress and broaden my knowledge on the subject. I also feel honoured to be accepted to conduct a poster presentation and share the results of my research study.
