Dr Karen Fong is a Research Scientist at the Hematology/Oncology Division of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where she has conducted research with Dr Joel Bennett and Dr Lawrence Brass in the area of platelet biology with particular emphasis on the structure and function relationship of the platelet integrin IIb3, and how it relates to the mechanisms of platelet activation, clot contraction and thrombosis in vitro and in vivo.
